Around 52 librarians and library staff participated in the joint 1st Regional Congress of Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) and the 3rd Regional Convention of Caraga Librarians and Libraries Association, Inc. last August 17-18, 2009 at Lucianna Inn and Restaurant, Butuan City. The 2-day event focused on the IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto.
The group was humbled during the opening ceremony that the OIC Regional Director for CHED Caraga, Dr. Virginia D. Akiate, CEO VI, shared her time and delivered an inspiring and heartwarming message with added inputs on her real life experiences on library scenarios wayback home.
The new set of CLLA, Inc. officers were inducted by Maxie Doreen Leva- Cabarron, one of the guest speakers during the 1st Regional Congress of Philippine Librarians Association (PLAI) and at the same time the 3rd Regional Convention of Caraga Librarians and Libraries Association (CLLA) Inc. last August 18, 2009 at the Lucianna Inn and Restaurant, Butuan City.
